This issue features a story about the new town office. It includes a history of Middletown Springs town offices, beginning with Florence Pratt who was Town Clerk in the 1960s and had her office in her home.
The Presidents Corner featured an update by David Wright on the recents flooding in Vermont. He notes that while many towns experienced severe flooding during a period of summer rainfall that was twice the norm, the Poultney River and North Brook that pass by the Mineral Springs Park did not leave their banks.
There is also an article on the Town-Wide Gathering planned for Mineral Springs park on September 24 and an update on the repainting of the Elisha Leffingwell Tin Shop in Mineral Springs Park.
Among other articles in this issue are an announcement of the annual Museum Open House that this year features a dramatic reading of excerpts from the 1907 childhood diaries of sisters Lucy and Hazel Grover. The program also includes a gallery talk about the new exhibit, Childhood in Middletown Springs, 1850-1920 that debuted at the Strawberry Festival in June.
